Welcome to Sweet Heart Beancurd Pudding!
Tofu is thought to have originated from ancient China during the Western Han Dynasty and it has since spin off with all the different dishes we see today. Douhua (Soya Beancurd) is one of the delicacies and in times today, it is considered as a Chinese dessert that is made with very soft tofu dish up warm. Locally, this is served with clear sweet syrup and knowing Singaporeans have a soft spot for sweet dessert, innovative idea came about on the creation of Beancurd Pudding. As we all know, pudding is also a sweet dessert but the main differences compare with Douhua are, pudding originated from the United States and it's normally served cold. So, with the combination of the Chinese and Western style, that is how Beancurd pudding is given birth!
Sweetheart Dessert first open a stall at Tanjong Pagar and since then, have expanded and today there is a total of 6 stalls, all over Singapore. The locations of the stalls are at Waterloo, Clementi, Bishan, Bukit Merah and Jurong West. At Sweetheart, we can find a few flavors such as Original, Almond, Mango, Green Tea and Durian. At some of the stalls, you may find soya drink as well. Knowing Singaporeans are health conscious, a careful level of sugar has been taken into consideration. Hence, the level of sweetness is just perfect! And to make Sweetheart even more distinctive from the others is, the recipe is self made and only pure soya powder is used.
